Norwegian championship in the old tradition of Rakfisk
The championship will this year will be held 16.- 18. november.
You find Vauldalen 4 Norwegian miles east of Røros at an altitude of 840m. a.s.l. Where we have been hosting the Norwegian championship in Rakfisk for the last 14 years, rakfisk is fermented fish, a Norwegian delicatessen.
We have an exiting program set up for the whole weekend filled with culture and the opportunity to learn a thing or two. Friday night a horse and sleigh ride will take us into the forest to Volldalskoia a timber cabin with an open fire and 150 candles for a wonderful evening with a three-course menu inspired by the mountains and live music.
On Saturday there will be a course in making rakfisk at Stensaasen, After the course, our chefs have prepared a tasteful and vibrant lunch using our wild mountain fish and rakfisk as main ingredients. The winners of the competition will be announced in the evening at the banquet where everyone can taste all the contestants fish. During the dinner there will be entertainment and after there will be a band playing and time for dancing.
